Day 9: Moving from Discernment to Decision-Making in CLCToday was a different day, not just the climate change (sunny rather after many days of rain), but spending more time reflecting at the assembly and preparing for the upcoming election of World Executive Council. We shifted from communal discernment to decision-making. We felt consoled.
There was much sharing at the assembly by each delegation. Active listening was needed in order to make decisions. We read the first draft of the final document, which told the story of the prayerful and discerning experience through the assembly. A sense of gratitude and acceptance prevailed. The writing team listened and echoed the experience of the delegates. This final document may not be the Word of God, but His Spirit was very present. We continued praying for the presence of God to be part of the graces of this Assembly.
There was a special moment of much joy and gratitude. Father Rafael Velazco SJ, pastor of the San Miguel community came to share the joy and happiness the local community experienced during the 3rd day. It was much accepted and valued.
We finished this day remembering the words of Father Pedro Arrupe SJ. It was a great summary of the importance for today´s experience of the Assembly.
Nothing is more practical than finding God, than falling in Love in a quite absolute, final way. What you are in love with, what seizes your imagination, will affect everything. It will decide what will get you out of bed in the morning, what you do with your evenings, how you spend your weekends, what you read, whom you know, what breaks your heart, and what amazes you with joy and gratitude. Fall in Love, stay in love, and it will decide everything.
